In addition to providing services for the patients of Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health, our faculty provides consultative services to pathologists around the world who seek assistance with challenging cases. We also provide a wide variety of routine and esoteric testing services through our clinical and molecular pathology groups.

Stanford’s Anatomic Pathology group offers expert diagnoses across all subspecialties of pathology. Our faculty members have deep expertise in their respective subspecialties but also maintain a strong working relationship with the other subspecialties within the department. This collaborative environment means that a case is often reviewed by a team of experts, both within the subspecialty and by pathologists in other relevant services.

In our Clinical Pathology Sections, our experienced staff of board-certified pathologists and laboratory scientists ensures that state-of-the-art technology and expert diagnosis is delivered for every sample that is processed in our labs.

Stanford’s Molecular Pathology and Genomics services offer a full range of molecular techniques including quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), multiplex PCR, DNA microarray, in situ hybridization, in situ RNA sequencing, DNA sequencing, antibody-based immunofluorescence tissue assays, molecular profiling of pathogens, and analysis of bacterial genes for antimicrobial resistance.
